
Leigh Wells
Leigh Wells (they/them) is a Kentucky-raised, Brooklyn-based educator, arts ed. administrator, and activist. Leigh is passionate about the potential, importance, and impact of artmaking in practice with critical, intersectional, and interdisciplinary thinking as tools for greater shared understanding and re-envisioning education. Their work in arts education and non-profit administration has been centered in New York City, on the unceded lands of Munsee Lenape and Canarsie peoples, including work at the Queens Museum, Museum of Arts & Design, PROOF: Media for Social Justice, Museum of the Moving Image, and Community-Word Project. Leigh is currently the Senior Manager of Youth Programs at the International Center of Photography (ICP). Their writing and photography have appeared in CMYK, Gourmet, Spinning Jenny, Poets & Artists, Narrative, and more.
